Our cute 'little man'

Wyatt tried on his first pair of jeans the other day. He looks like such a handsome little man...I love it!

Wyatt's first "little man" clothes

It was soooo cold here this morning. I think it actually dipped below 50...brrrr. I had to bundle Wyatt up in a jacket for the first time. We went over to Aunt Joy's this morning. She watched Wyatt while I went to a dentist appointment. I think he had a good time...he just slept and farted (his usual morning routine) :o) Thanks again Aunt Joy for taking such good care of him!

Bundled up for the cold morning

When you have a few minutes, I encourage you to watch the video below. It really brings life into proper perspective. I am overwhelmed with how lucky Darrin and I are to have such a wonderful healthy baby boy. I don't know why God has blessed us so much but we are grateful for every single day, every toothless smile, and even every dirty diaper. We love you Wyatt!

Foiled

Below are pictures of what my brother Todd was welcomed back to work with when he arrived on Monday morning after a week's vacation. Someone had a lot of time on their hands (and apparently a lot of foil, too) :o)

Fun, sun, birds, gators, & rays

What a week! We thoroughly enjoyed having Greta & Shawn down for a visit. As you can see from the picture below, Abby did overcome her bird aversion. We went to Jungle Gardens and had a grand ole' time. Abby volunteered during the reptile show and got to hold a baby alligator all by herself...I was so proud of her!

On Saturday, my brother Todd and his wife Stephanie arrived after driving through the night. We spent the morning at Bayfront Park. It was so beautiful outside by the water. For lunch, we all went to Chipotle (a new restaurant on 41). The food was good but a little on the spicier side.

We wrapped up the day by ordering pizza and watching the Rays get beat by Boston. Darrin was out of town this weekend with our church youth group tubing up at Ginnie Springs so it was nice to have the extra hands around to help with Wyatt. Abby and Emma did a great job of helping to hold Wyatt.

That's all for now. Oh, by the way, we are officially Rays fans now that they finally won and are going to the World Series. Go Rays! :o)

Swirling sand and sawing logs

My sister Greta and her family arrived yesterday afternoon to visit for the week. It was so fun to see little Abby & Emma playing with their cousin Wyatt for the first time. They did so well holding him. They are getting in some good practice for when their little baby brother arrives in a few months.

Emma & Wyatt

Today we went to the beach with Greta & Shawn. It was quite the eventful trip. I had set up our big umbrella so that it blocked the sun and breeze and then laid Wyatt down on a blanket to sleep under its protection. All was well until a sudden gust of air swirled some sand around the umbrella and left a fine dusting of sand all over Wyatt. I almost hit the panic button. Luckily Greta was quick with the wipes and I got his poor little face wiped off before any got in his eyes or mouth (or at least I don't think any got in there).

Wyatt at the beach (before the sandstorm)

The second event of the day occured while we were eating some sandwiches. I was sitting in my beach chair with Wyatt on my right arm and holding a ham sandwich with my left hand. I had just taken a second bite out of sandwich when a dumb bird swooped down and snatched the entire sandwich out of my hand. This time I did hit the panic button. I started shrieking and yelling semi-obscenities at the cluster of birds devouring my sandwich a few yards away. Poor Wyatt was rudely awakened from his sleep and I succeded in permantly destroying my niece Abby's relationship to anything with feathers. She is now deathly afraid of birds and spent the rest of the day paranoid that one of the birds would swoop down and get her (or her sandwich, or her soda, or her chips, and so on and so forth). I officially apologize to Greta & Shawn for scarring their firstborn child for life. I will spend the rest of the week attempting to undo the damage.

Below is some footage I shot this morning. Make sure the volume on your computer is turned up when you view. Wyatt is starting to sound a little like his Grandpa Yoder. :o)

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's.....Captain Adorable!

"Here I come to save the day!"

Last night we tried Wyatt's new pants on him. The tag said they were 0-3 mths and should fit 8-12lb infants...I think the sizing must run a bit on the big side.

Do these people look familiar???

I came across these pictures of Melvin Jones and Fanny Smith from a 1960 yearbook...is it just me or do they look familiar? I can't quite put my finger on who they remind me of. I'm sure it's some movie star because they are both so good looking. :o)

Wyatt went to church for the first time on Sunday. It was so nice to be back in church after being at home for two weeks. Wyatt did a great job. I put him in the sling and aside from a few grunts he was quiet and pretty well slept through the entire morning.

Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I tried to clean the master bathroom but didn't get too far. Who would have thought that it would take 2 days to clean one bathroom. :o) The biggest event of the day happened last night when Darrin was burping Wyatt in our bedroom. Wyatt had his official first diaper blow-out and it smeared on our (white) bedspread and Darrin's shorts. It was quite hilarious. Luckily the Spray N' Wash worked its magic and there is no longer any mustard yellow evidence left to mark the event.

Today we met Jill & Baby Ella at the new Kohl's on University to do a little shopping. I got Wyatt some little pants and I bought myself a new pair of shoes. I've decided to limit my shopping to shoes and handbags for the time being as these are two things that I can wear regardless of what size I am. :o)

Wyatt chillin' out with Daddy after a big burp (look how fat his little belly is getting)

We lost the instruction guide for the Bumbo seat - are 2 week olds supposed to sit in these things???

Check out the monsterous feet...I think he's going to be a big boy. :o)

Firsts

Wyatt has had a number of "firsts" these past few days. Yesterday was his first time on the interstate, first time thru the Chick-Fil-A drivethru, and first time at the grocery store. Yes, it was quite the big day. I took Darrin and Brandon lunch and then Wyatt and I went to visit Wyatt's little girlfriend (a.k.a. our good friends Kelby & Jill's 2 month old daughter Ella). We stopped by Keva Juice and picked up a sweet snack on the way. I was really craving Keva Juice for some reason. I'm not sure what is up with my cravings. I didn't have any my whole pregnancy and now I have them...go figure. :o) Anyways, we enjoyed spending some time with Jill and Ella and then we had to stop by Publix on the way home to get a gallon of milk. I was a bit nervous about braving the grocery store the first time but I soon found my fears unnecessary. Wyatt was such a good little guy. I just put him in the sling and he loved it. We were in and out of the grocery store in less than 10minutes...I was so proud of him (a little proud of myself, too).

Today was another day of firsts. This morning we decided to take Wyatt to the beach. He slept so well last night (I fed him at 11:00pm and he only woke up at 4:00am and 7:00am) that Darrin and I woke up feeling really good so we packed up and headed to the beach. It was such a beautiful morning. The weather could not be any nicer (low 80s, slight breeze, and bright blue skies). We put him in the sling and then took a nice walk along the shore. I think Wyatt liked the beach (although he never technically opened his eyes at any point while we were there).

Wyatt absolutely loves the sling

First trip to the beach

Well, I gotta go. The little man is getting hungry (again)! :o)

Welcome from the Campbells

Welcome to our blog! Wyatt just laid down for his morning nap, so I have a few minutes to sit down at the computer. I will try to update the site at least a couple times a week (if Wyatt permits it) to keep all of you in the loop on what's going on with our family. For starters I am going to upload some pictures Darrin took this past weekend. Hope you enjoy them!

Wyatt loves getting kisses from his mommy :o)

This one is for all the ladies

It's hard work being so cute
